945 Are Extended Criteria Donor Kidneys from 70 years-old and above Good Enough to Accept? A Single Centre Experience

Abstract Aim As a result of increasing demand in recent years organ donation and transplantation, the transplant community has been utilizing organs previously considered unsuitable for including from extended criteria donors (ECD) after circulatory arrest (DCD). This led to higher rates non-functioning poorer outcomes, uncertainty when accept or decline donor organ. Our objective is measure patient graft outcomes kidney transplants ECDs aged 70 older. Method A retrospective study 104 renal transplanted patients between April 2010 March 2014. Recipients referred other centres were excluded study. Follow-up period was 7 years. Results At follow up, survival among recipients older 42.5%(n=17/40) while younger 58% (n=37/64) (P = 0.1594). Conclusions There no significant difference two cohorts survival. The use kidneys ≥70 yielded generally satisfactory results compared 50–69 old donors.
